Troubleshooting verification issues

If your verification attempt was rejected or is stuck, it's usually one of the issues below.

Blurry or unreadable documents: Ensure your camera is focused and the text on your ID or document is sharp and legible.

Glare or shadows: Turn off your camera flash and take photos in a well-lit room with natural lighting to avoid obscuring important details.

Cropped images: Make sure all four corners of the document are clearly visible in the photo. Do not cover any part of the document with your fingers.

Name or date of birth mismatches: The name and date of birth on your Cooked account must exactly match your ID document. If you get a mismatch message, check your profile details against your ID and correct whichever is wrong.

Camera-only capture: Our verification step uses your device camera rather than a file upload, so the system can confirm the image was taken live. If your camera isn't capturing a clear image of your ID, try better lighting or a different device rather than trying to upload an existing photo.

Document showing as "incomplete" after resubmission: This usually means one of the checks above wasn't fully met on the resubmitted image, not that the resubmission failed to register. Try resubmitting with better lighting and all four corners visible.

Previously verified status now showing as unverified: If your account previously showed Level 2 as verified and it's since changed, this typically means we need an updated document (for example, your ID has expired) rather than an error. Submit a current, valid document to re-verify.

Have an updated or different document to submit? You can resubmit at any time from Profile Settings > Verify — a new submission will replace the old one for review.

If you've tried multiple times and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to support@cooked.com with a description of the error, and our team will manually assist you.
